Role Overview The Observability, Monitoring, and Integrations team sits within GitLab's Monetization section. As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Monetization Platform Integrations team, you'll design, build, and maintain the integrations that connect CustomersDot and Monetization services to GitLab's enterprise applications, including Salesforce and Workato. You'll own robust application programming interface (API) contracts, protect data integrity across systems, and build resilient cross-platform workflows that underpin how customers buy, provision, and renew GitLab. What You Will Do Design, build, and maintain integrations between CustomersDot, Monetization services, and enterprise applications such as Salesforce, Workato, and Zuora. Define and evolve REST and GraphQL API contracts, including versioning and backward compatibility. Build observable, fault-tolerant integration workflows, and track error rates, retry success, and failed-workflow recovery to improve reliability. Why It Might Be a Fit Professional experience working in Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL or similar relational databases in production environments. Experience integrating with third-party or enterprise APIs and designing REST and GraphQL contracts, including versioning and backward compatibility. Familiarity with event-driven patterns such as webhooks and message-based streaming.
